ROLE:

Construction Manager at Risk

The Boys and Girls Village, a nonprofit organization, sought to invest in their future by creating a master plan. We were enlisted to facilitate the expansion in 2016. Our program focused on addressing infrastructure needs for the proposed expansion and determining the phasing needs to construct four new buildings on a 24-hour operational campus with a K thru 12 day and night dorm activity. Our pre-construction civil team worked with facilities and the engineering team to develop site planning upgrade with new services to meet with the project current and future expansion needs throughout the 15-acre campus. Next, we developed a phased logistics plan, first for campus infrastructure, then very new building to segregate activities from full time campus motion. All work required CHRO inclusion during our procurement phase with required 25% goals, these were part of our early project estimating plan as we built our bidding packages to meet with the SBE /MBE pool of available subcontractors. This is an important part of our services from experience.

Currently the 48,000-sf project is nearing completion with the final upper school addition wrapping up the summer of 2025.
