ROLE:
Construction Manager at Risk
The Guilford Center for children acquired two historic barns on Stonehouse Road from the town of Guilford to renovate into their new childcare facility. The 100 year old barns are part of the historic Henry Whitfield State Museum property. The project consisted of completely gutting the interior of both barns, raising the barns to allow for proper waterflow during tidal conditions, installing piles, using reclaimed beams and engineered wood structure to complete the original barns, recladding the entire exterior and completely retrofitting the interior of the space. This project required significant coordination to ensure that the existing structure would remain as part of the new construction to preserve the historical integrity of the site.
