The Trumbull school system had a successful Pre-K program ready for expansion. When a selected Construction Management provider could not meet the town’s budget, the committee reached out to the Bismark team to review the project and take over ownership. Once our Pre-Construction team reviewed the plans, they were able to adjust the site utility locations and save the project $650,000 to bring the project within the $6.5 million town budget.
The new 24,000 sf school was built within 20 feet of an existing, occupied elementary school that shares the same campus. As time was critical, our Pre-Construction team developed a two-phase project in order to condense the schedule. Phase one involved site work, foundations and steel, and phase two was dedicated to the remainder of the project. Doing this not only enabled us to save 2.5 months on the project, but the school was able to open the Pre-K program in 10 months’ time.
Planning with experience is key to our success. Our years of successful building add to our Construction Management approach as we recommend cost-saving details to the Design teams to bring projects within our client’s budgets.
